Systemic Candida Infection

by Lauren

Hi Melissa

I have a moderate to severe systemic candida infection. I have been dealing with this for months and not feeling better. One day different from the rest in relation to how much anti-fungal food I eat. So frustrated! Do I need to look into colon cleansing? Also do I need to take oxygen supplements? I have heard that helps. So confused.

Thanks for help,

Lauren

P.S. on candida diet for 1.5 mo probably on it for rest of my life...

ANSWER

Hi Lauren,

I know candida albicans can be incredibly frustrating. I dealt with it for more than a few years before I finally beat it back to normal levels.

I tried every candida cleanse out there it seemed. But I wasn't able to get my life back until I got to the root of the problem.

Candida lives in a low oxygen, high acid environment. Not only lives, but thrives! Take that environment away and you'll get it under control.

If you haven't already, read my pages on body pH. It will explain how we create conditions that are right for systemic candida.

The bottom line is to get your body back to the high oxygen, slightly alkaline state that candida can't live in - and will give you your health back.

How? Alkaline supplements and foods that promote that alkalinity.

You asked about oxygen supplementation, but I don't recommend it as a remedy (it will probably relieve some of your candida symptoms, though, if you want to use it for that.). The oxygen will come back to your tissues when you begin balancing your body pH.

As far as directly killing off the candida, I recommend organic unrefined coconut oil.

Although pace yourself with the consumption of this oil. It is a potent candida killer and too much too soon can make you feel awful from a candida die off reaction.

Also look into getting a good probiotic (friendly bacteria) to colonize your digestive tract. Probiotics keep candida away two ways:

1) Certain types will release chemicals that candida can't tolerate
2) All of them are able to crowd out the candida so they have no place to grow.

Please don't think that you need to stay on the candida diet for the rest of your life. No one should have to live like that. Fix the root of the problem and the candida will go away and stay away for good!

Wishing you the best of health,

Melissa
